The highly anticipated Scarface reboot is finally happening, and according to rumors, the iconic lead, Tony Montana, will be played by Michael B. Jordan.
Newsweek reports that the Black Panther actor is being considered for the part. If true, this would see Jordan give new life to Al Pacino’s gangster character Tony Montana, who in the 1983 Scarface was a Cuban immigrant turned powerful drug lord.
The latest Scarface is to be set in Los Angeles, following Howard Hawks’ 1932 installment in Chicago and Brian De Palma’s 1983 version in Miami. Universal Pictures, the studio behind the film, has reportedly been trying to get the reboot off the ground for years. Now the film is finally happening and Luca Guadagnino, director and producer of Call Me by Your Name, has been tapped to direct.
Michael B. Jordan hasn’t officially been confirmed yet for the role, so keep it here for updates.
