The first official trailer for Matt Reeves‘ The Batman is finally here.
Debuted as the finale of this weekend’s DC FanDome, the two-minute trailer hears Nirvana‘s “Something in the Way” soundtracking the Robert Pattinson-led flick. The visual shows the lead actor sporting both the Batsuit and his more formal Bruce Wayne attires, along with first glimpses of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler. Not shown in the first trailer were Colin Farrell as The Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
Reeves attended DC FanDome and noted that while it’s not an origins tale, viewers will be meeting Batman “in the middle of this criminological experiment and watch him make mistakes.” He continued, “He’s not having any of the effect that he want to have, that’s when the murders begin to happen.”
“This epic history of corruption in Gotham: Where did (his) family sit in that?,” Reeves added. “At the end, it’s very personal for him.”
