Big Sean is set to release his highly anticipated album, Better Me Than You, on August 9. This announcement comes just a day after a Kanye West fan allegedly leaked much of the album online. In response, Big Sean dropped a new single titled “Yes” and shared the official release date for the LP.
“The pressures of life—being a new dad, growing as an artist, and developing as a person—have given me a lot of clarity on what to focus on for true happiness,” Sean wrote on X before announcing the album. “The past few years creating this album have been a journey, to say the least, but I’m just glad we’re finally here.”
Sean also released a vibrant, psychedelic trailer for the album. “It’s been a journey,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to share it with you all.” Regarding the new single “Yes,” Sean described it on X as the “type of track you gotta listen to all the way through.”
The album announcement follows an incident where a Kanye West fan leaked the entire album online, saying, “Since he wants to disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album. Fuck him and his whole team,” after Sean seemingly took a jab at West during a freestyle on On the Radar.
