Buckle up—Apple TV+ has just dropped the official trailer for its upcoming F1 film, starring none other than Brad Pitt. And with the first race of the season kicking off in Australia this weekend, the timing couldn’t be better.
From the powerhouse team behind Top Gun: Maverick, F1 follows Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a once-promising Formula 1 phenom from the 1990s whose career was cut short after a brutal accident. Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny has spent the last 30 years drifting through the racing world—until his old teammate, Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem), comes knocking. Ruben, now the owner of a failing F1 team, is desperate to turn things around, and he’s betting everything on Sonny’s comeback. But there’s a twist—Sonny won’t just be a mentor; he’ll be back behind the wheel, racing alongside the team’s rising star, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). With redemption, legacy, and one last shot at glory on the line, Sonny must prove he’s still got what it takes.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Hollywood heavyweights Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, and Pitt himself, F1 boasts a stellar supporting cast, including Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia.
Catch F1 in IMAX on June 25, with a North American release following on June 27. The countdown to race day starts now.
