After years of teasing, title changes, and a little bit of last-minute suspense, I AM MUSIC has officially landed! Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album hit streaming services in the early hours of March 14—just fashionably late enough to keep fans on edge.
This beast of a record runs for a little over an hour, packing in a whopping 30 tracks and an all-star lineup of features. This album marks Carti’s first full-length project in over four years, following 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. The journey to I AM MUSIC has been anything but straightforward—originally dubbed Narcissist, the project evolved over time as Carti experimented with new sounds and creative approaches. At one point, he even spent three months recording in a cave-like studio in Paris (because of course he did).
