The Kid Laroi, real name Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, hails from New South Wales, Australia. He was born into a musical family, as his dad was a sound engineer and his mum was a talent manager and record label founder. He is mixed race and got his stage name Laroi from his Aboriginal background. Plus, his influences include Kanye West, The Fugees and Tupac.

The Kid Laroi started off by uploading music onto SoundCloud, and signed a development deal with Sony Music Australia. In 2018, he released his debut EP, 14 With a Dream. His singles include Addison Rae, Diva, Go, Thousand Miles, Without You, and Stay, a collaboration with Justin Bieber which spent six weeks at number one on the Hot 100. Over his career, he has collaborated with Miley Cyrus and Tokyo’s Revenge.
